After we packed everything up and zoomed out of Wasaga Dunes, we started thinking about what to do next. We had the whole day before we had to head home again. The sky was clearing up a little and it looked like it might not rain for quite a while. It just stayed grey and overcast. Not a good beach day, but a great day to head up to the mountains.

We drove in to Collingwood and stopped at the Tim Horton’s to replace the scavenged bagels. Then a quick stop at the Starbucks drive through and it was on up the mountain side.

Since we’d just packed up that morning and zoomed out of the campground, it took us a while to get presentable. We took care of some things in the parking lot that are normally done before leaving home. Rules change when you’re camping, what can I say. While we brushed hair and changed shoes, I had our pictures copying from the flash memory cards to the notebook computer. This turned out to be the only time I used the computer on the trip. Having a laptop to copy pictures on to makes it possible to keep on taking more shots every day without carrying too many cards.

Scenic Caves Nature Adventures has a few different offerings these days. We planned on doing the original trail through the caves. I’d seen something on their web site about the new suspension bridge as well. The also have mini-golf, a play ground for the kids, a trout pond and (of course) a gift shop. I don’t know what’s involved in their offerings for the grown-ups, but we saw some people who looked like they were equipped for the zip-line.
