Bikinis

Good for them, I say, flaunt it if you’ve got it. There wasn’t anything going on that I felt I had to hide my kid’s eyes, just people doing what they’ve done forever. Some played games of catch or tossed a frisbee around on the beach. People are friendly there, there’s no attitude . If you happen to set up shop where people are playing just be ready to toss a stray ball back with a smile and you’ll get a smile back.

The boardwalk that I mentioned earlier goes on for a long way down the beach, and you’ll find public restrooms at the west end of it in beach area 2. You won’t find soap in those restrooms unfortunately. Other than that, they’re not too bad as far as beach bathrooms go. Bring your own wet-ones or waterless hand cleaner, you’ll be glad you did. Take a stroll down the boardwalk alone or with a loved one. It’s great in singles or pairs but I wouldn’t recommend it for a crowd. A couple years ago I jogged the boardwalk with my daughter. I did all the jogging, but we both got to enjoy the sunset. I didn’t have my camera with me, but that image is still as clear and vivid in my mind as it was when it happened, July first two years ago.

Beach volleyball, action on the hot sand

Near our beach blanket, there were a few games of volleyball going on. I think everyone brings their own nets. It’s a fun game, but you need at least six to a team to have a decent match. The co-ed players we saw at it seemed to be having a real go of it. Sometimes there are volleyball competitions arranged on the beach. There was one this year with Not So Pro Beach Volleyball.
